Works great as a normal hat with the flap tucked under the crown for running in the boat or times when the flap is not needed. Note the clip on the end of the adjustment strap. You can clip it to your shirt so it won’t get away if it does blow off.
The entire side panels are mesh and allow great air circulation to keep your head cool.

The flap is extended. It will cover your neck and from the front of one ear around to the front of the other ear, providing maximum protection from the sun.
