There are too many variables that come into play when determining what size and what kind of lure to use. Throw in the aspect of what color is best and you now have the equivalent of a mathematical formula on your hands. I have always subscribed to the theory that it's up to the fish to decide what it is that they want. The challenge for us as anglers is to find the "magic" formula of bait.
